Dover, WI – A 23-year-old Kansasville man was injured after he flipped his snowmobile Sunday night on a snowmobile trail by County Trunk Highway A and Sharp Road.
The man’s sister called the Racine County Communications Center after he called her and told her he had flipped his snowmobile and had injured himself. But she was unable to find the man. Once a deputy responded, he asked the woman series of questions and was able to narrow down the location, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.
They located the man after seeing a cell phone being waived out in a farmer’s field about 400 feet away.
“The deputy was able to hike to the patient who stated that he was unable to walk and that he had severe leg pain. The deputy then used a flare to signal his location to other incoming responders and gave first aid to the injured party. The temperature at the time of the call was -3 F,” according to the press release.
Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in this snowmobile crash, deputies reported.
Reward increased for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in fatal hit & run crash.
