On Sunday, Mount Pleasant Police officers responded to a report of individuals fighting loudly in one of the rooms of America’s Best Value Inn & Suites. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a hotel clerk that fighting and loud noise was heard going on. The MPD officer went to the room in question where he could reportedly hear a male and a female loudly arguing. The officer reported hearing “yelling, profanity and crying.”

Officers made contact with the female, Guadalupe Dominquez. A second party, Emmanuel Garcia Martinez was located in the bathroom of the hotel room. According to reports, the officers observed in plain view a clear baggy with a white, powdery substance. The substance which appeared to be cocaine, was transported to the Mount Pleasant Police Department where it was weighed and tested. It weighed 32 ounces and tested positive for the presence of cocaine.

MPD reports also noted that 31 individual packages of “Dark Vape” were located in the hotel room, along with a digital scale, 150-pack of sandwich bags, and $1,475 in cash.

According to the police, Dominquez said only she and Martinez had access to the room. Martinez is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine. The drug charge carries a fine of u to $100,000 and imprisonment for up to 25 years, or both.

Dominquez is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, which carries the same potential fine and jail time as for Martinez.
