Racine Police responded at about 12:02 a.m. Monday morning to reports of an unwanted individual in the residence at 1612 W. Sixth St., Upper. The complainant told police that a man, Jimmie McAfee, 41, was still upstairs at the house. On their way to the scene, police were informed that, if the unwanted person had a birthday of April 4, 1977, he was wanted on an active warrant for probation violation.
At the house, the complainant told police that McAfee, a Milwaukee resident, was extremely intoxicated, had been argumentative, and had kicked the complainant’s cat. Officers asked McAfee for his name, and he reportedly told them Marcus Muhammad.
Knowing that the suspect had been uncooperative and had lied about his name, police walked him downstairs and escorted him to an RPD transport wagon. The suspect yelled and cursed at officers and planted his feet to avoid being placed in the transport. He continued to struggle to pull away from officers, according to reports.
The suspect was taken to the Racine County Jail, where he was administered a breathalyzer test by jail medical staff.
Because he was too intoxicated to be kept at the jail, per Racine County Jail policy, he was taken to Ascension Hospital emergency room where he continued to provide a false name to hospital staff. He was handcuffed to the bed so hospital medical staff could take his blood pressure and other tests, he continued to kick at and threaten staff.
McAfee was eventually medically cleared and transported back to the Racine County Jail.
He has been charged with Obstructing an Officer (repeat offender), Resisting an Officer (repeat offender), and Disorderly Conduct (repeat offender).
