The Racine Literacy Council’s (RLC) annual fund-raising event will be held on Saturday, March 9th at Memorial Hall, Racine, 5:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. With last year’s rebranding, RLC has adopted the motto “Opening the Door to Education.” In keeping with the spirit of this idea, RLC has incorporated this concept of open doors into its annual fundraising event.
The OPEN DOOR EVENT will feature Brian Niznansky, TMJ4 meteorologist and Racine native, as its keynote speaker. There will also be a sit-down dinner and silent auction. To preview items for sale, log onto www.32auctions.com/RLC2019. Online bids on items may be submitted between Friday, March 1 and Friday, March 8. Entertainment for the evening will also be provided by the MadHatters, a nationally recognized collegiate a cappella group from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. First created in 1997, the MadHatters have grown significantly in popularity in the a cappella community, having released several albums and having received several awards. The MadHatters traditionally feature 9-12 vocalists and one vocal percussionist.
Tickets for the OPEN DOOR EVENT may be purchased online at www.racineliteracy.com or by visiting the following ticket outlets: Borzynski’s Farm & Floral Market, Dimples Imports and Mocha Lisa Coffee Shop (northside). All proceeds will help the Racine Literacy Council continue to provide free literacy services to adults in Racine County.
