A Union Grove man was arrested for 6th drunk driving after deputies with a Racine County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday in Union Grove.

Bruce Berger, 55, was driving in a residential area in the dark with no headlights on. The deputy found a 1.75 liter of vodka and a 30-pack of beer inside Berger’s car, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

He failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol level of .247. Because of his prior drunk driving record, he was restricted to a blood-alcohol concentration of no more than .02. So his blood-alcohol level was 12 times the restricted limit.

Berger is currently being held at the Racine County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
