A Racine man was in court Friday facing charges after he shot a gun at a car full of people — including his daughter — back in August.
Brian Tucker, 39, was charged in August by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with possession of a firearm by a felon, pointing a firearm at another, and four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, use of a dangerous weapon.
If convicted of all charges, Tucker faces up to 60 years nine months in prison and/or fines up to $135,000. He was brought into court Friday on a $75,000 warrant for his arrest after he failed to make a court appearance in August.
According to a criminal complaint, officers with the Racine Police Department responded to a report of shots being fired on July 20 at a home at 3347 Hamlin St. Four people explained to police that they had dropped off Tucker’s daughter at her house so that she could get some clothes.
When the driver of the car honked to get the girl’s attention, Tucker was backing out of his driveway. He yelled at the driver of the car and they yelled back at him. He then got out of his car, and ran into his house. The girl came back and got into the car.
As they drove away, Tucker came out of the house and shot at the car. A bullet struck the front passenger tire.
Tucker is being held at the Racine County Jail on a $2,500 cash bond. A preliminary hearing has been set for 9:30 a.m. March 13 in front of Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch.
