After an incident took place last year between a Racine Police officer recruit and a Kenosha officer, there has been a recommendation to approve a payment of $50,000 to the City of Kenosha, according to a story in the Journal Times.

The City Attorney’s Office issued a statement indicating that the incident occurred March 13, 2018, at Gateway Technical College’s Kenosha Campus, located at 3520 30th Avenue. The incident happened during a break between exercises in the training room and resulted in the Kenosha officer sustaining an injury, which required surgery and physical therapy.

The City Attorney’s Office said in a letter to Mayor Cory Mason and the City Council that the $50,000 figure was made after reviewing the available information.

This case was referred to the Finance and Personnel Committee, which will make a recommendation, and then will go to the City Council on March 19 where they will vote to either accept or reject the recommended payment.
