RACINE – A man who led police on a car chase was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office Monday with possessing drugs and a gun.

Mount Pleasant Police arrested Curtis M. Collins, 22, of Racine, at 2:02 a.m. Saturday for felony possession of firearm, possession of marijuana and failure to stop for traffic officer.

Officers attempted to do a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Highway 31 south of Highway MM. Catching up with the vehicle at Northwestern Avenue and Rapids Drive, they again tried to stop the car. But he continued the chase.

Coming to a stop on Golf Avenue north of Rapids Drive, officers with the Racine Police Department assisted officers from Mount Pleasant at Golf Avenue just north of Rapids Drive.
