RACINE WI – A video showing allegedly abusive behavior by a group home employee toward a resident has led to charges being filed against a Racine woman.
Yolanda S. Williams, 48, is charged with intentionally abusing a resident in a way likely to cause bodily harm, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor bail jumping, for the March 29 incident.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court:
Police were called to check on a resident of a group home in Racine on March 29. The person who called police said he saw two workers pouring liquid onto a client. The man who contacted police showed a video that had been posted to Facebook.
In the video, two women are seen having a conversation, while a man with dark hair is kneeling in front of them. A third woman, later identified as Williams, appears and begins yelling for the man to “get up!” The video also shows the man putting his arm out as if looking for assistance, but Williams slapping it and pushing it away.
She is also seen in the video dumping an unknown liquid on the back of the man’s head, and pouring it on his back.
The video also showed Williams and another woman dragging the man for several feet before pulling him up to his feet.
Police visited the group home and spoke to the owner, who identified Williams.
She made her initial appearance on Wednesday, where her bond was set at $500 cash and a $2,500 signature bond.
