Racine County will be well represented at the Mrs. Wisconsin America Pageant Saturday as Cheryl McCrary, of Sturtevant, and Michelle Weisheim, of Racine, will compete for the crown.
McCrary enters the beauty pageant as the ambassador for Mrs. Southeast Wisconsin and Weisheim will represent Racine at the pageant, which will be held in Mosinee. Regia Curran, the reigning Mrs. Wisconsin 2018, will crown her successor.
The pageant supports contemporary married women who strive to reach greater heights of achievement in all areas of our society, along with providing strength and inspiration to the family and community.
“I am truly honored to share that I have been selected by the Mrs. Wisconsin America Pageant to represent my community as an ambassador for Mrs. Southeast Wisconsin,” McCrary said.
McCrary has an eclectic background. A professional singer, she has performed at sporting events, weddings and has been offered a national recording contract. She does modeling, rides a motorcycle with her husband Mike and she is a pastor.
Her platform: Human Trafficking Awareness and prevention.
“I also desire to celebrate the sanctity of marriage, to help encourage and empower women to set visions for their goals, personal development and to continue endless community involvement,” she said.
The pageant focuses on four main categories: overall poise, personality, beauty, and intelligence.
Weisheim served as Mrs. Wisconsin Unites States 2018. A medical assistant, wife, and mother. She and her husband Bob have three children.
On her Facebook page, Weisheim called her journey in pageantry a blessing.
“The ability to continue doing service work for Infinitely More, as well as having the ability to expand my horizons and learn more about many other local organizations have been eye-opening,” she wrote. “In one year alone, my family and I have completed over 350 hours of community service! Where do I even begin to thank the many individuals that have helped me out along the way?!?”
Weisheim and her family do volunteer work for Infinitely More, a nonprofit that helps African orphans.
The crowning winner of the Mrs. Wisconsin America Pageant will then compete in the nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas, which has been telecasted for the past 23 years.
The pageant also offers a People’s Choice Photogenic Contest. Voters can click on the pictures of their favorite pageant participants to make a donation. A portion will be contributed to the Victoria’s Voice Charity Foundation, which advocates against the growing epidemic of drug addiction. To make a donation, click on the pageant page.
