RACINE, WI – A 45-year-old man died after being struck by a car while he was walking early Wednesday morning near Spring and Chicago street.

When rescue personnel from the Racine Fire Department responded to the scene they found the man in the 2300 block of Spring Street. They began to treat the man, but he died at the scene, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.

Police have not released the man’s name. The only description that the man gave of the vehicle that struck him was that it was an SUV.

Officials with the Racine Police Department are now searching for the driver of the SUV that struck the man.

Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime.  Any witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at (262) 635-7756.
