RACINE, WI – Two people were injured in a one-car crash that happened at 4:14 p.m. Sunday night on West Boulevard near 21st Street.

The car was going southbound on West Boulevard when it crashed into a tree. The driver and the passenger were taken to Ascension-All Saints Hospital, but one of them was then taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee,  said Lt. Dave Wohlgemuth, of the Racine Police Department.

Traffic investigators are still on scene.

Joe Lackey Jr. told the Racine County Eye that he was visiting some relatives when they heard sirens in the area.

“My wife walked down there and spoke to people there,” he said. “It looked like it (the car) had been on fire.”
