OAK CREEK, WI — The former Fanatics Sports pub was burglarized last week, and the burglars made off with thousands of dollars worth of recyclable material, police said.

According to Oak Creek police reports, officers responded to the old Fanatics Sports pub on the 7100 block of S. 27th Street on a report of a burglary at just before 11 a.m. on Aug. 30.

Police said a person called authorities, saying that someone broke into the building and stole a compressor.

When police investigated, officers saw that the north door of the building was pried open. A compressor for a cooler was taken in addition to about 1,200 feet of copper pipe. The compressor was valued at $2,000 and the copper pipe was valued at $3,000, according to Oak Creek police call logs.
