MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Foxconn will be building more than just LCD screens at the Mount Pleasant electronics manufacturing plant that’s currently under construction.
Under a new agreement with Austin, Texas-based Briggo, Foxconn will manufacture fully-automated coffee houses in Mount Pleasant. Briggo coffee houses have already been deployed in high-traffic areas, such as an airport in Texas.
The unusual nature of this coffee shop is its automation, an app-based, robotic, 24/7 specialty coffee system that alerts customers via text when their tailored cup of java is ready.
Briggo officials describe the place as housing a vehicle that “empowers people to create their perfect cups of coffee.” Barista robots respond to orders that can be made through mobile apps to achieve a “Connected Coffee Experience” centered on whole-bean Latin American blends, fresh dairy and gourmet syrups.
Foxconn officials say they’ll use their smart manufacturing, supply chain management and global reach to jump start production in the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park in Mount Pleasant.
