Finding your inner voice, letting it develop into one of authority and allowing that voice to be heard is a powerful act. So what’s your story?

Racine County Eye owner Denise Lockwood will host two five-week long writing classes called Writing Your Truth, finding your inner voice through short stories. In a small group setting held at the Office at 410 Main St., students will learn about the power of personal stories. In a supportive environment, we’ll learn how to quiet that inner critic through a series of writing prompts.

Once we’ve isolated a single story, we’ll learn how to lift up those thoughts by organizing them through journaling and refine that story through peer editing groups. Then we’ll share those stories in a community event called My Story, My Voice.

Two class sessions are offered:

  • 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays starting November 18.
  • 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays starting November 23.

Sessions will be held at The Office, 410 Main St. The cost is $250 for the 5-week session.

My story, my voice will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 21 at The Office, 410 Main.

Note: Class sizes are limited to 10 people. We reserve the right to cancel the class if 5 people or less sign up.
