RACINE, WI – The Racine Common Council will consider free holiday parking at all metered spaces for four Saturdays.

Dates being considered include November 30, and December 7, 14, and 21. Over the past few years, the Common Council has allowed patrons to enjoy free parking during the holiday season in metered spaces.

This year, however, the free parking will be limited to the hours posted on the meters. So if a person parked in a metered spot that allowed four hours, they would only be allowed to park in the spot for four hours.

Most meters only allow for four-hour parking, but some meters allow for ten-hour parking.

Parking ramps that have gates and Lakefront lot #5 will still charge for parking.

The Council will vote on the matter at its meeting on Tuesday, November 19. The fiscal impact is estimated at $8,000.
