Running back LJ Dagen had the big night for Kenosha Indian Trail as he ran for 209 yards and four touchdown runs in a 42-19 win over Madison La Follette on the road.
With 9:57 remaining in the first quarter, Kamarion James-Ragland connected with K’Shawn Gibbs on a 38 yard touchdown pass before Dagen responded with a 31-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game with 8:14 left in the quarter. With 2:16 remaining in the quarter, James-Ragland connected with Carter Borcherding for a 21-yard touchdown to grab the 13-7 lead.
Indian Trail took their first lead with the lone score of the second quarter with a 28-yard rushing touchdown from Dagen to grab at 14-13 halftime lead. Early in the third quarter, Dagen added on to that lead with a 33-yard touchdown to push the lead to 21-13.
James-Ragland cut into the Hawks’ lead with a one yard touchdown run to cut the lead down to 21-19 after an unsuccessful two point conversion attempt. With 15 seconds left in the third quarter, Jamar Thompson scored from six yards out to push the Indian Trail lead to 28-19.
Dagen and fellow running back Justice Lovelace pitched in two scores of 71 yards and four yards to increase in Indian Trail lead even further in the fourth quarter to get the 42-19 win.
In addition to Dagen’s big night running the ball, Lovelace also had a big rushing night of 163 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown.
Madison La Follette was led offensively by quarterback Kamarion James Ragland who went 13-for-29 for 207 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. K’Shawn Gibbs led the way in receiving with six catches for 109 yards, while Carter Borcherding had 92 yards on six receptions.
Indian Trail improves to 1-0 on the season and will finish non-conference play next week against Evanston.
