Kenosha Tremper used great late game offensive execution to squeak by Racine Horlick in a 42-41 victory at Horlick Athletic Field on September 10 in Wisconsin football action. The Trojans used two touchdown drives in the last two minutes of the game to get the win.
Horlick used two touchdown runs of three and four yards from Shawn Griffin to grab a 12-0 lead in the first quarter before Cash Raethke connected with Kyle Holm on a 29-yard touchdown pass to cap the first quarter scoring.
Both teams scored in the second quarter, as Raethke connected on his second touchdown of the game with Jordan Parker, while Horlick quarterback Carson Fletcher connected with Miles Gallagher as Horlick took the 20-14 lead into the locker room.
Horlick and Tremper traded scores again in the third quarter with a touchdown run from Jordan Brown and a Tremper fumble recovery for a touchdown by Parker to make it 28-21. Horlick pushed it to a two touchdown lead in the fourth quarter with touchdown runs from Gallagher and Griffin.
Tremper scored three touchdowns in the last six minutes of the game including two touchdown passes from Raethke as he connected on a 32-yard score with Luke Baldwin with 2:02 to go in the game. With 1:13 remaining in the game, Raethke connected with Kyle Holm on a 28-yard pass to get the 42-41 win.
Raethke led the Tremper offense throwing for 250 yards and four touchdowns in the win, while Holm was his leading receiver with six catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns as well as one on the ground. Griffin led Horlick in the loss as he ran for 229 yards and three touchdowns.
Both teams go to 2-2 on the season. Tremper takes on Indian Trail at home, while Horlick travels to Franklin next week.
