The following is a list of the upcoming programs at the Racine Public Library:

Library Services & Event Registration

Register for library programs in one of the following ways:

Looking for a quiet place to study, work or meet with a group? Reserve one of the Racine Public Library’s study rooms. Call the library to reserve a room. Walk-ins are welcome as long as rooms are available; rooms are first come first served and are available for up to two hours.

Need to place a book on hold? Troubles finding certain materials? Have a question about research or anything else? Call the library (press “2” to speak to a staff member). We’re available for phone support Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. We can also chat online on our website. (Chat icon is in the lower right corner of the screen.)

Racine Public Library’s Beyond Books Collection continues to grow. Check out a WiFi hotspot, a laptop, board games, video game consoles, a record player and so much more!

Tales for Tots
Tuesday, Jan. 11 | 10 a.m. | Youth Services – 1st Floor and Facebook Live
Join us as we read our favorite children’s books out loud. Please bring a towel or blanket. No registration required.

Scratch 101
Tuesday, Jan. 11 | 11 a.m. | Innovation Lab – 2nd Floor | Grades 4-8
Coding is fun and easy – that’s why we’re bringing STEM to middle schoolers. Explore the world of coding by creating your own video game in the program Scratch. Registration is required.

Family Storytime
Wednesday, Jan. 12 | 10 a.m. | Youth Services – 1st Floor
Sit down for an interactive family storytime with storytelling specialist Gail Navratil. Her unique storytelling style captures children’s minds and hearts, creating an inclusive space for everyone to interact. No registration required.

TBR or Not TBR
Wednesday, Jan. 12 | 4 p.m. | Martin Room – 1st Floor | Grades 2-5
There’s no reading assignment for this book club. Instead, just show up and tell us about what you’ve been reading lately! All books and genres are welcome – it’s a great way to find new reading recommendations without all the pressure. No registration required.

Musical Storytime
Thursday, Jan. 13 | 10 a.m. | Youth Services – 1st Floor
Join us for music, motion and fun as we read (and sing) some of the library’s most musical books. No registration required.

Open Robotics Lab
Saturday, Jan. 15 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Innovation Lab – 2nd Floor
Try your hands at robotics! We’ve got robots like Dash Dot, Ozobot and more. No registration required.

Y.A.L.L: Trivia Night
Monday, Jan. 10 | 4:30 p.m. | Lee Room – 1st Floor | Ages 13-18
Test your knowledge of all things pop culture! Whether your medium is music, television, internet phenomena or something else, we’ll have something for everyone. While you’re here, find out how your ideas can shape future teen programs and events like these! No registration required.

Computer Basics
Tuesday, Jan. 11 | 5 p.m. | Innovation Lab – 2nd Floor
Learn how to use the Windows operating system. No materials required — just stop in, and we’ll use the library’s computers to show you the ropes. Registration is required.

Internet Search Tools
Wednesday, Jan. 12 | 11 a.m. | Innovation Lab – 2nd Floor
Do you ever struggle to find the results you’re looking for in internet searches? There are some tricks to phrasing your searches to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. We can help you learn the best search techniques possible! Registration is required.

All Ages

Maker Monday
Monday, Jan. 10 | 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. | Innovation Lab – 2nd Floor
The Innovation Lab will be open all day for you to stop in and try our 3D printers, laser engravers, virtual reality, drones and more! You can even stay for a while to use our gaming systems. No registration required.

COVID-19 Walk-In Vaccination Clinic
Saturday, Jan. 15 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Martin Room – 1st Floor
Stop by the library to get your COVID-19 vaccination! Vaccinations will also be offered at the library on Feb. 5.
