The Downtown Racine Corporation (DRC) had to put a pause on their annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the past two years, however, this year, the parade is back on for its 14th year. It will be held on Saturday, March 19, and will start at noon in Downtown Racine. The St. Patrick’s Day parade will begin on the corner of State and Main Streets. The parade will continue south on Main Street and then turn west onto Sixth Street, ending near City Hall.
“This parade is the official kick-off to Spring in downtown and we are thrilled to be back after 2 years off and once again be able to offer a fun and festive event to our community.”

Dozens of floats and parade entries will make their way through the streets of Downtown Racine. This year’s Grand Marshalls will be the Dancing Grannies. Other notable entries include fan-favorite Lighthouse Brigade, Root River Rollers, and multiple singing and dancing groups. Major sponsors of the parade are CJW, Zeigler Honda and Joey’s Yardarm.
In addition to the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the DRC, in partnership with 5kevents.org, will be host to a St. Pat’s Day 5K® prior to the parade. Don’t feel like jogging before the parade? The race organizers are also featuring a “Paddy’s 0.08ish K.” Both will start near Pepi’s Bar and Grill. Look for the top male and female finishers as they will join the parade procession upon their completion of the 5K.
Following the parade, community members are welcome to stick around and enjoy a bite to eat and something to drink. Visit local pubs and restaurants in Downtown Racine to continue celebrating.
To note, if you are attending the parade, parking can be found at the Lake Avenue Ramp (300 Lake Ave.), Civic Centre Ramp (501 Lake Ave.), and the McMynn Ramp (120 7th St.) for only $2 all day.
