Nicole Oberlin, Gateway Technical College 2022-23 District, Elkhorn Campus Ambassador

Gateway Technical College has named its newest District Ambassador for the 2022-23 school year. Nicole Oberlin, Elkhorn Campus Ambassador, now has the added honor and responsibility of acting as the student voice, on a district-wide level, among the communities of Kenosha, Racine and Walworth Counties. Ambassadorship also includes participation at various speaking engagements throughout the year for Gateway-sponsored events.

Two other students were in the running for District Ambassador. Taylor DeVincentis (Kenosha Campus Ambassador) and Lizbeth Ruvalcaba (Racine Campus Ambassador) will represent their respective campuses throughout their terms as Campus Ambassadors.

The campus ambassador program is very important to the college, to our academic programs and to our students. It is important to recognize student academic achievement and outstanding character. Recognizing the student ‘stars’ promotes the college’s values and highlights teaching excellence and student success. The students nominated for the campus ambassador program are role models for current and future students.

Oberlin, a dual admission General Studies program student, will represent Gateway at a statewide leadership conference of District Ambassadors from each college of the Wisconsin Technical College System and will also receive a Gateway Technical College Foundation tuition voucher.
