Recently, the Caledonia Police Department shared a round-up of their encounters on their Facebook page. The following incidents took place between March 29 and April 5. During that week, the Caledonia Police Department responded to 450 calls for service. This included 5 accidents, 5 OWI’s and 136 traffic stops.

The Caledonia Police Department reports the following incidents:

March 31, 2022

At 5:15 p.m. on March 31, the Caledonia Police Department received a call from a local resident reporting that someone was breaking windows at North Park School, which was empty at the time. Officers reported to the scene. They detained a juvenile who was caught in the act of throwing rocks at the school. The juvenile was cited for criminal damage to property and turned over to a parent, according to the CPD’s post.

April 1, 2022

The Caledonia Police Department and the Racine Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at the Pilot Travel Center at 3:47 a.m. on April 1. The CPD reported that they were called because shoplifting was in progress. When officers arrived on the scene, they detained a 38-year-old female from Waukesha and a 48-year-old male from West Allis. They had a backpack full of items taken from the store. Following that, law enforcement found a 7-year-old child of the female in their vehicle.

The male was then arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, 3 counts of bail jumping and a Probation and Parole Hold. Law enforcement took the female into custody on charges of drug paraphernalia and a Probation and Parole Hold. The juvenile was turned over to another family member who responded to the scene, according to the Caledonia Police Department.

April 1, 2022

On April 1, at 12:36 p.m. an officer from the Caledonia Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop on 6 Mile Road at State Highway 31. However, the Caledonia Police Department’s post states that “the vehicle continued for a 1.68-mile pursuit before pulling over by Lakeshore Drive. The driver, a 48-year-old female, was taken into custody and turned over to the jail on a charge of Flee/Elude Police Officer.”

April 2, 2022

A Caledonia Police Department Dayshift patrol officer located a vehicle abandoned around 12:30 p.m. on State Highway 38 by Four Mile Road. The vehicle had no license plates. The Caledonia Police Department reports: “the vehicle was found to have been stolen in Milwaukee 2 weeks earlier and was now without an engine.” There is currently an ongoing investigation.

April 3, 2022

The Caledonia Police Department states that a “local citizen reported finding the bottom drawer of a cash register in the ditch at Carol Road and Adams Road. The drawer had credit cards in it and was found to have been taken in a burglary in Milwaukee.” The Milwaukee Police Department had the suspect in custody and were charging him with multiple counts of burglary.
