Obituary for Phillip R. Sheldon Jr.
October 25, 1939, – April 18, 2023
Phillip R. Sheldon Jr., 83, formerly of Rhinelander, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Ignite Medical Resort, Oak Creek.

He was born on Oct. 25, 1939, in Crandon, to the late Phillip R. and Cecilia (nee: Seymour) Sheldon Sr.
On May 16, 1959, he was married to Lawana F. Lafferty in Crandon. They were married for 57 years when Lawana passed away on March 6, 2016.
Phil was a member of UAW Local #180 and was employed with J.I. Case until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Meadowbrook Congregation in Racine. Phil was a sports fanatic who enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, jigsaw puzzles and karaoke.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Rhonda Isaac, daughter Carlene Ofem of Racine; son, Phillip R. (Dawn) Sheldon III of Newald; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Roberts of Long Lake; sisters-in-law, Carole Sheldon and Lalonnie Lafferty; and brother-in-law, Donald (Diane) Lafferty. Phil is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Phil was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Sheldon; sisters, Joyce Bailey of Wakefield, Mich., June Muvalle, and Illa Mae Campbell; brothers, Grant “Jim” Sheldon, Lyle Sheldon of Crandon, Vernon (Doreen) Sheldon of Crandon, Bruce (Shirley) Sheldon of Rhinelander, and Gale (Jewel) Sheldon; and brother-in-law, Robert Roberts.
Services
A Memorial Service for Phillip R. Sheldon Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Cavour Town Hall, 4045 Village Road, Cavour, WI 54511. Phillip will be laid to rest with Lawana in Forest Home Cemetery, Newald, Wis.
