Obituary for Renee Rae Thompson
April 24, 1958 – April 21, 2023
Renee Rae Thompson, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 21, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Racine on April 24, 1958, the fourth of eight children to Charles and Stella (Nee: Sweeti) Tussler.

Renee attended J.I. Case High School, “Class of 1976.” She was united in marriage to Peter C. Thompson on Aug. 24, 1979, at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, and they were blessed with two daughters, Lynee and Rachel. Peter passed away on Jan. 24, 1995, the result of a snowmobile accident. Renee retired from MJ Care Inc. after 10 years working in Physical Therapy at Ridgewood Care Center. She was a member of the MJ Care Presidents Forum.
Renee will be remembered as energetic, lively, and fun. She had a way of drawing people to her and easily made friends. Renee enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, the Northwoods, and anything that would help sustain her tan. In her younger years, she enjoyed softball, camping, and motorcycle trips. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends having a good time. She was a one-of-a-kind mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynee Thompkins (Joel Venn), and Rachel Thompson; grandchildren, Tatum, Genesis, Malachi, Carter, and Winston; siblings, Randy Tussler, Lance “Budda” Tussler (Margie), Becky Jander, Sara Tussler; brother-in-law, Steve Jander; mother-in-law Patricia Thompson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lisa (Augie) Schmidt, Sue (Gary) Sorensen, Greg (Heidi) Thompson; special longtime friends, Claudia Engstrom and Pam Torres; The Bower, Chapin, and Kraft families; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Brian, Todd, and Rachel; special friend, Bob Rohner; and father-in-law, James Thompson.
Services
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
