Obituary for Veronica Fodor
August 26, 1924 – May 5, 2023
Veronica Fodor, nee Marinac, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 5, 2023.

Veronica was born in Racine on Aug. 26, 1924, to Matthew and Mary Marinac. She married William Fodor on June 28, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1985. Veronica was employed by Western Printing Company for five years after her graduation from Horlick High School. After her children grew up, she worked for 19 years at the Town of Caledonia, as a Town Clerk, and the Fire Department before retiring in 1994. Veronica was an avid reader and enjoyed taking bus trips and visiting casinos, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Veronica “Ronnie” Pendell, and Barbara Connaughton; grandchildren, Amy (Jim) Kopatich, Daniel Pendell, and Ian (Jane) Connaughton; great-grandchildren, Lucas (Jordyn) and Morgan Connaughton; Veronica is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mary Marinac; brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Joy) Marinac; and son-in-law, Marty Connaughton.
Services
A visitation for Veronica will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. until noon at Purath-Strand Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at noon. Interment will take place in Caledonia Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice of Mount Pleasant, especially RN Liz, LPN Hailey and Aide Sherry for the considerate care given over the past five months, and Halina of Home Care Services for the compassionate and loving care given during Mom’s final days.
