Obituary for Andrew Duncan
October 1, 1932 – May 15, 2023
Mr. Andrew Duncan, 90, passed away at his residence on May 15, 2023.

Andrew was born in Aliquippa, Pa., on Oct. 1, 1932, the son of the late Walter and Asnora (nee Williams) Duncan. He married Carol Czerniejewski (nee Rogala) in Las Vegas on May 18, 1979.
Andrew proudly served his nation with the U.S. Army, as well as the Army Band. After the service, he received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in music education. Andrew served thousands of children in the community by presiding as Director of Music for Racine Unified School District; a position he held for 20 years. He was Director of Music at Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago and also directed choirs at Sixth Grace Presbyterian Church in Chicago and Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine. Andrew belonged to the Wisconsin School Music Association from 1958 to 1994. He was a member of Faithbridge Church in Franksville.
In addition to his loving wife Carol, Andrew is survived by his son, Keith Duncan of Chicago; daughters, Angela (Timothy) Noss of Los Angeles, and Lori (Michael) Pool of LaVerkin, Utah; step-daughters and step-son, Sandra (Peter) Barry of Oak Lawn, Ill., Steve (Lori) Czerniejewski of Lindenhurst, Ill., and Carol (Timothy) McPhillips of Racine; grandchildren, Chad Noss, Sawako Noss, Brian Barry, Nancy Barry, Amanda Signorelli, and Gian Signorelli; great-granddaughters, Sasha, Clara and Cari Noss, and Sylvia and Clara McPhillips; his sisters, Ruth Steppe and Marzette Duncan, both of Los Angeles; sister-in-law, Arleen Runge of Thorton, Ill.; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Andrew is preceded in death by his former wife, and mother of his three children, Julia (Harris) Duncan; brothers, Garrison and Oswald Duncan; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Duncan.
Services
Family and friends are invited to visit from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on May 27 at Faithbridge Church. A service celebrating his life will follow at 11 a.m. and conclude with military honors. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials have been suggested to Faithbridge Church.
