Obituary for Ronnie Lee Hooks
July 1, 1957 – May 18, 2023
Ronnie Lee Hooks, 65, unexpectedly completed his earthly pilgrimage on May 18. He was born in Racine on July 1, 1957, the son of Eddie Lee and Mary Louise (nee: McClain) Hooks.
Ronnie had been employed by PPG in Oak Creek. He enjoyed working out, doing yoga and meditation, hiking, listening to music, especially jazz, and volunteering wherever and whenever he could. His family was the center of his life.
Surviving are his three children, Nichole Hooks of Houston, Texas, Nicholas Hooks of St. Paul, Minn., and Benjamin Hooks of Racine; four grandchildren, Bobby Shelby, Lamiiya Shelby, Saraya Hooks, and Isaiah Herndon; two great-grandchildren, Amena and Mia Shelby; mother, Mary Louise Hooks of Egan, Minn.; siblings, Murphy and Edward Hooks of Racine, Robin (Patrick) Hunter, of San Antonio, Texas, and Nancy (Antonio) Fuentez of Farmington, Minn. His nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive Ronnie. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Hooks.
Services
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 1 at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Family and friends will be able to meet with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
