Obituary for Charlene ‘Char’ Jensen

April 25, 1930 – May 21, 2023

Charlene “Char” Jensen, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21.

Char was born on April 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles and Frieda (nee: Hababa) Musil. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948.

She married the love of her life, Billy Jensen, on June 30, 1951, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  He preceded her in death on April 28, 2012.

Char was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. She loved traveling, as well as playing bridge, cribbage, and Schfkoph.  However, she was happiest raising her eight children and being in the presence of her entire family, especially her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Duke) Stork of Racine, Kathy (Mark) Bruno of Port Orange, Fla., Patty Jensen of Racine; Mary (Gary) Voge, Tom (Mary) Jensen, Jeff Jensen, all of Racine; and Karen (Mike) Haines of Miami, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Sandy Jensen; grandchildren, Brian (Rebecca) Stork, Matt (Brandy) Stork, Telicia (Bill) Schroeder, Chad (Heather) Solodio, Pam (Rodney) Spencer, April Jensen, Chris (Gina) Voge, Gretchen Tusler, Tom Jensen, Jr., and Mark Jensen; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Billy, Char was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Jensen; brother, Ray Musil; sisters, Dorothy (Jerome) Peyton, Marilyn (Richard) Shultz, Virginia Musil; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Inger and Niels Jensen; and sister-in-law, June (Walter) Miller.

Services

Family and friends are invited to meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on June 3 in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home for a visitation. A service remembering and celebrating Charlene “Char” Jensen’s life will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Her interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice Alliance.
