Obituary for Mamie Lou Louis
February 26, 1928 – June 2, 2023
Mamie Lou Louis, 95, was called home to Jesus on June 2. She was born in Mississippi on Feb. 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Emma Lou Foster and John McKinley Dillard. She resided in Racine for most of her life.
Mamie created a thriving house cleaning business, working for many Racine area families for years. Her reputation preceded her. Mamie lived a long life, filled with love, always laughing and sharing her joy. Those privileged to know her all loved her.
Left to treasure her memory include her “adopted” family, Barbara, Marla, Marilyn, Karen, and their families. Preceding her in death are her beloved fiancé, Bill; her favorite Aunt Lula; dear friend, Mary.
To all the staff at Elizabeth Gardens, a very special thank you for the excellent care and kindness over the past five years. Your love for Mamie will never be forgotten.
