October 13, 1959 – June 14, 2023

Our beloved Fay Dean Jenkins (nee: Wright), 63, passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on June 14 after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. Fay was born in Shelby, Miss., on Oct. 13, 1959, to Willie and LeeDale Wright. Fay was baptized at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Kenosha. She attended schools in Kenosha, graduating from Tremper High School in 1978. She later graduated from Gateway Technical College with an associate’s degree.

Fay served her country as a soldier in the United States Army. After her service in the Army, she went on to retire from Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin as a process review manager. Her previous employers included Regal China and St. Catherine’s Hospital.

Fay was hard-working and successful at everything she focused her mind on. She was a dedicated mother to her only son, Freddie, and was a great friend to everyone she met. Fay also had a special love for her animals, having dogs and cats as pets at the same time. She enjoyed lobster and steak, with plenty of butter, when she dined at Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas. Fay always encouraged her nieces and nephews to do their best, and she was willing to help them at any time.

She will be tremendously missed by her son, Fredrick Troy Jenkins, Jr.; parents, Willie and LeeDale Wright; brothers, LeeDale (Anna Ross) Wright, Jr., Anthony Wright, both of Kenosha, and Obie (Comonique) Wright of Paducah, Ky.; godsons, Arthur West of Kenosha and Ca’San Kross of Sparta, Wis.; aunts and uncles, Betty Joe McKethan, Senora Hill, Calvin and Ethel Kentcy; great-aunt Evelyn Brantley Jordan; cousins, Kelvin (Glory) Kentcy of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Demere Kentcy of Kenosha. Because of the life Fay lived, she leaves to cherish her memory to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Fay was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher E. Wright; grandparents, Leola Johnson, and Margie and Clarence Steel.
