Obituary for Jeannine Marie Cross
September 29, 1929 – June 15, 2023
Jeannine Marie Cross, 93, passed away on June 15. She was born in Hayward, Wis., on Sept. 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Earl and Rose (nee: Chatterson) Miller.

Jeannine was united in marriage to John Edward Cross on Jan. 30, 1982. She worked as a claims clerk for the Social Security Administration until her retirement in 1987. Jeannine enjoyed flowers, gardening, and attending social events, and was also a dog lover. Jeannine was a 30-year member of the Eagles Club and was also a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
Jeannine is survived by her grandson, Michael Thomas; daughters-in-law, Sona Thomas, and Sandy Thomas; siblings, Evelyn (Richard) Herrick, Frances Bredeson, Earl C. Miller, Margaret (Duane) Harebo, Joseph Miller; lifelong friend, Delores DeNashal; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to her parents, Jeannine is preceded in death by her husband, John E. Cross; son, Daryl W. Thomas; and brothers, Leland, Franklin, and Marshall Miller.
Services
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on June 28 at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
