Obituary for Dora Lee Mullins
January 18, 1946 – June 30, 2023
Dora Lee Mullins, age 77, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. She was born on Jan. 18, 1946, to Josephine Arthur in Orrville, Ala. She confessed her love for Christ at a young age. Dora completed her education in the Dallas County school system in Beloit, Ala.

In 1963, Dora married Ed Mullins. She conceived four children. She loved cooking and watching her westerns on GRIT and The Weather Channel. She was the family’s Weatherman. She loved doing puzzles. You could walk into her house at any given time and see a jigsaw puzzle on her dining room table. She enjoyed knitting house shoes for her family members, especially her grandchildren. Dora enjoyed going fishing with her mother, other family members, and friends. She also loved spending time and sitting on the front porch of her building, people-watching with friends.
Dora was employed in the laundry departments at Racine Motor Inn, Racine Inn on the Lake, and Ridgewood Care Center, where she retired after working 20 years.
Dora leaves to cherish her fond memories: three children, Betty Marshall, Linda Mullins, and Clifford Mullins Sr., All of Racine, Wis.; two sisters, Josephine Stokes and Regina Avant, both of Racine; two brothers, Timothy Marshall and Patterson Marshall, both of Racine; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Mullen of Killen, Texas, and Deanere (Larry) Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Romer Lee Mullen of Racine; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Marshall; her husband, Ed Mullins; her daughter, Patricia Walker; three grandchildren, Ranisha Mullins Ward, Ed and Edwina Mullins; her brother, James Arthur; five aunts, Amanda Marshall, Orlean Arthur, Mary Ballard, Sally Shivers, and Virginia Webster; two uncles, Ezekiel Arthur and Elijah Arthur; and three brothers-in-law, Cornell Stokes, Fred Mullins, and Willie Avant.
Services
A Homegoing Service for Dora will be held at New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Ave., in Racine, on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
