Obituary for John Henry McCullough

October 9, 1942 – July 11, 2023

John Henry McCullough passed away on July 11, 2023. He was born to the late Marion “Mac” and Lucille (nee: Valley) McCullough on Oct. 9, 1942.

John graduated from Park High School in 1960. He attended Trinity College. On Aug. 16, 1969, he married the love of his life, Priscilla J. Yunk. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Peter McCullough of Milwaukee, and Paul and Kerrie (nee: Sengenberger) McCullough; and granddaughter, Alexis (Gabriel) Comer.

At the age of 12 years old, John asked Jesus to be his savior after watching Billy Graham on TV. He was active in the Youth Christ Clubs during his high school years. He had a beautiful bass voice and loved to sing to praise God. John was active in The Gideons International.

John worked at Western Publishing, Jacobsen Textron, and the Transportation Security Administration at Mitchell Field in Milwaukee. After his first retirement, he worked at NAPA Auto Parts until the age of 77.

John is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Priscilla McCullough; sons, Peter McCullough, Paul (Kerrie) McCullough; granddaughter, Alexis (Gabriel) Comer; sister, Judith Day; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Marion “Mac” and Lucille McCullough.

Services

A memorial celebration of John’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Calvary Memorial Church, 4001 Washington Ave., with Rev. Patrick Faulk officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to The Gideons International or Calvary Memorial Church.
