Obituary for Jeff Knuckles
October 1, 1958 – July 9, 2023
Jeff Knuckles, 68, passed away at Aurora Medical Center-Mount Pleasant on Sunday, July 9, 2023. He was born in Tyronza, Ark., on Oct. 1, 1954, the son of Joseph and Odesser (nee: Burns) Knuckles Sr.

Jeff had been employed by Racine Steel. He enjoyed painting houses and working in the garden.
Surviving are his siblings, Sammie (Emma) Smith, of Oxford, Miss., Jonnie Knuckles and Ruby Buckingham, both of Antioch, Calif., Louise Smith, Ora Gray, Altoria Edwards, Earl Knuckles, and Classie West, all of Racine, Odesser (Greg) Maxie, of Vallejo, Calif., Harvey Knuckles, of Quimper, France, and Dorothy (Willie) Burnett, of Anniston Ala.; special sister, Willie B. Knuckles, of Racine, sisters-in-law, Cheryl Knuckles, of Evansville, Ind., and Hattie Knuckles, in California, aunts, Edna (Aaron) Baker, of San Leandro, Calif., Fannie Burns, in South Carolina; uncle, Dan Burns, of Racine, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Knuckles, brothers, Deacon Joseph Knuckles Jr., Rev. Tommie Knuckles, Sampson “Sam” Knuckles, and Carey Knuckles. , sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Knuckles, Elizabeth Smith, and Fabian Knuckles, brothers-in-law James Gray, Bill West Sr., Charles Edwards Jr., Nathaniel Smith, and Louis Buckingham; aunts, Alma Farrow, Altoria Naylor, Dorothy Bowman, Julie Ellis, Mae Jesse Burns, Margaret Burns, and Minnette Burns; uncles, Calvin Naylor, Carey Burns, and Rev. Alfred Burns; nieces and nephews, Sheila Knuckles, Katrina Edwards, Michael Knuckles, Robert Knuckles, L.C. Knuckles, Rueben Buckingham, and Glenn Gray.
Services
His Homegoing service will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, July 20 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
