LeRoy was born to the late Clarence and Martha (née VanderWall) Roedema on March 3, 1937, in Racine. He was united in marriage to Doris Arlene Caskey on April 29, 1957, in Shawneetown, Ill.

LeRoy had a short battle with leukemia. It was unexpected how quickly everything progressed, but LeRoy had the support and love of his family to help him through to the end.

LeRoy worked at Twin Disc for 30 years before retiring in May of 1993. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sturtevant. LeRoy enjoyed golf, home remodeling and model building. He loved pipe organ music and learning about the history of pipe organs. LeRoy also liked to travel. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

LeRoy will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris (née Caskey) Roedema; children: Rodney Weidenbenner, Dennis (Annette) Weidenbenner, Christine (Christopher) Shiley, Shelley Shiley, Jeffrey Roedema, Todd (Lisa) Roedema, and Sarah (Michael) Marsh; 23 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his sisters: Elaine, Marcia and Claire; brothers: Lawrence, Richard, Clarence and Jacob; and daughter-in-law, Barbara.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Pastor Richard Rogers of Calvary Baptist Church, Ascension Cancer Center, Allay Home and Hospice, and the staff at Home Harbor in Racine.
