A Caledonia resident is facing possible charges after Caledonia Police took 24 animals away from a residence located at 6848 Highway 38 on Friday.

Law enforcement officials worked with the Wisconsin Humane Society and Namaste Equine Rescue to rescue birds, small animals and cats, according to a press release by the Caledonia Police Department.

The case is still under investigation. Caledonia Police have not released the name of the homeowner, who has not been formally charged. But animal neglect charges have been forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

We’ll update the story when we get more information.
