The decision to change food service providers at Ridgewood Care Center could mean job losses for 27 employees.
Ridgewood is a skilled nursing facility located at 3205 Wood Road in Mount Pleasant.
Amanda Lindenmoyer, senior manager of human resources for Sodexo, wrote in a letter obtained by The Journal Times that Sodexo is closing its operation at Ridgewood.
“Sodexo will be permanently closing its operations at Ridgewood Care Center. The closure has been prompted by the Ridgewood Care Center’s decision to discontinue the Sodexo’s services in the dietary department at that location, and contract with another company to provide its dietary services.”
While those 27 Sodexo employees will be laid off – three of them salaried and 24 of them hourly – they might have the opportunity to apply for positions with the new food service contractor.
State law requires that any company with 50 or more employees in Wisconsin provide 60 days notice of impending layoffs or closings.
