Neighbors are invited to participate in the second annual Lakeside neighborhood clean up no matter what area of Mount Pleasant they call home.
Organized by the officers assigned to the new Mount Pleasant COP house on Mead Street and several community leaders, the goal of the clean up is to bring residents together to pick up garbage and generally improve the overall aesthetic of the neighborhood.
Lakeside residents, citizens from outside the neighborhood, village trustees and police officers – more than 100 people total – participated in the first clean up event last summer and then enjoyed pizza and soda at Wells Brothers Pizza.
The second clean-up is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 27. Volunteers can meet at the COP house in the 2300 block of Mead Street.
