9Round, a kickboxing fitness center, is now open in Mount Pleasant in the Pioneer Village Shopping Center, 6100 Washington Ave., suite E2.

Owned by Jerry and Petrina Cain, the couple decided to open their own business after being members of another 9Round location for over a year.

The center offers participants 30 minute workout sessions with no class times, but a trainer is on site to help “every step of the way,” according to a press release.

The center opened earlier this February, but a grand opening will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7 with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m.

The grand opening is open to the public and attendees can get a first workout free, view demonstrations and win prizes from local businesses. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
