YORKVILLE, WI – A vehicle was started on fire and abandoned Wednesday afternoon on I-94 early.

The Racine County Communications Center was notified of an accident near the State Highway 11 exit at 1:05 p.m. Deputies found the vehicle with no driver, in gear and running with flames coming from under the hood.

Responding officers extinguished the fire using an extinguisher from their vehicle and turned off the vehicle.

The accident caused two lanes of northbound traffic and one lane of southbound traffic to close for about 45 minutes.

Deputies were unable to find the driver of the vehicle after searching the scene of the accident.
