Journalism. We believe it should help you live a better life.

That’s why we spend a lot less time on publishing mug shots and a lot more time helping you understand the employment market, figure out how to spend more time with friends and family with our events calendar, and what you can do to help businesses that have opened up. Make no mistake…we aren’t shy. We tackle the big stuff, like COVID and issues around race.

And if you believe in the value of journalism — that it should help, not exploit — please consider becoming a paid member of the Racine County Eye today. We can’t do this work without you.

Andis Company is moving its shipping and distribution operation to a new building in a new business park, making room for expanded manufacturing operations.

The company is the second tenant to take space in Ashley Capital’s first building in the new Enterprise Business Park, northwest of the intersection of Highways H and 11, according to a story in The Journal Times, and will occupy 83, 646 square feet there.

At the Sturtevant Board Meeting Tuesday, Village Administrator/Clerk Mary Cole noted that the village put 4.21 percent new growth on the books in 2016, and that is all because of the Ashley Capital development, which is expected to eventually total four buildings covering more than 80 acres.

Andis manufacturers a variety of hair-care products like clippers, dryers, curling irons and flat irons, according to the company website.

There will be 30 employees operating the shipping and distribution departments in the new building, the story continues, and operations there are expected to get underway after the first of the year.
