Pritchard Park is about to become a lot more fun with a $6.5 million water park and aquatic center, a project being spearheaded with SC Johnson and the YMCA, according to a story by Patch.

Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave, S.C. Johnson Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson and Racine Family YMCA CEO Jeff Collen announced the SC Johnson Racine Community Aquatic Center project Thursday.

The project, which will feature 5,000 total square feet of water surface, is being funded by S.C. Johnson.

  • An 8-lane lap pool
  • An activity pool
  • Large waterslides
  • A water play structure
  • Rope Course
  • Zero-depth pool for young children
  • 4,800 square foot pool building with changing rooms

The Racine County Board will need to approve the project. A vote is expected to take place in August. Delagrave said the pool is expected to be open in 2018.
