Sturtevant police were searching Sunday night for a man who robbed the Durand Express Mart, 9001 Durand Avenue, by brandishing a knife and wearing a garbage bag over his head, according to a press release by the Sturtevant Police Department.

The man demanded cash from the clerk, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot. During the robbery, a Mount Pleasant Police officer and Kenosha Police Officer were pumping gas.

The man is described as being five-foot eight-inches tall, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black coat.

Scanner chatter by 9:30 p.m. indicated a K9 was requested to try and track the suspect by scent.
