Drivers traveling I-94 through Racine County Monday and Tuesday night will need to pay attention to detour signs.
From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, I-94 will close in both directions between Highways K and 11 so construction crews can bridge girders for the Highway C overpass.
Traffic heading north will have to exit at Highway 11 and use the east frontage road to the Highway K entrance ramp. Likewise, southbound traffic will have to exit at Highway K and use the west frontage road to Highway 11.
The Highway C overpass reconstruction is part of the $1.9 billion I-94 Freeway Project. It stretches from the Marquette Interchange to the Wisconsin-Illinois state line; and widens 35 miles of expressway to four lanes in each direction and improves 17 interchanges.
