… we have a small favor to ask. Thousands of people have placed their trust in the Racine County Eye’s high-impact journalism because we focus on solutions-based journalism.
With no shareholders or billionaire owners, we can provide trustworthy journalism that focuses on helping readers.
Unlike many others, Racine County Eye’s journalism is available for everyone to read, regardless of what they can afford to pay. We do this because we believe in information equality. Greater numbers of people can keep track of events, understand their impact on people and communities, and become inspired to take meaningful action.
If there were ever a time to join us, it is now. Every contribution, however big or small, powers our journalism and sustains our future. Support the Racine County Eye from as little as $5 – it only takes a minute. Thank you.
Back for a second year, the Downtown Racine Corporation presents Bend and Brew, free outdoor yoga on Sam Johnson Parkway beginning on Saturday June 22. Yoga sessions, which are lead by Yoga Roots Racine, will be from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. every Saturday until August 31. After every session, participants will receive a certificate to use towards a free coffee or beer at participating businesses.
Free Mimosa Location:
● The Maple Table – 520 Main Street
With Lake Michigan as the backdrop, start each Saturday morning off with a relaxing hour of yoga. Sessions will be lead with people of all ages and skill levels in mind.
A few yoga mats will be available, but patrons are highly encouraged to bring their own. Registration is not required, but plan on coming 5-10 minutes prior to start time to sign-in. Although this is a free yoga session, there is a recommended donation of $5 to go towards the instructors from Yoga Roots Racine. In the case that Bend and Brew will need to be cancelled because of weather, all announcements will be made on the Downtown Racine Corporation’s Facebook Page. (Please note, there will be no yoga on August 3)
“We are excited to be able to offer free yoga overlooking Lake Michigan each Saturday. We encourage you to stay after and explore all the amazing downtown shops and restaurants.” –Kelly Kruse, DRC Executive Director
