Beloved Fratt Elementary Counselor Gina Zarletti is in the fight of her life for her life, and everyone is invited to celebrate her incredible spirit and resiliency.
Zarletti was diagnosed last fall with stage 3 ovarian cancer and has since discovered she is at greater risk of breast cancer because of a gene mutation. To help prevent any additional cancer, Zarletti will undergo a double mastectomy this summer.
A benefit to help Zarletti offset the climbing costs of treatment will start at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hiawatha Bar and Grill, 9809 Durand Avenue in Sturtevant. The good time will include food, fun, a great basket raffle and dancing to a DJ that starts at 8 p.m.
Admission is $10 and includes a raffle ticket.
“Gina fights every day for our students and families at Fratt,” Zarletti’s colleague, Jeanette Brown, said. “Even while she was going through treatment, she continued coming to school. She’s a fighter.”
To contribute to Zarletti’s care, donations can be sent to Fratt Elementary 3501 Kinzie Ave., Racine, Wi 53405; Attention: Carla Thillemann or Becky Getman.
