Betty J. Kowalsky, 84, passed away on Tuesday at St. Monica’s Senior Living. She was born in Racine on March 30, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Don and Blanche (Nee: Haman) Hauch.
Betty was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, “Class of 1951”. On April 11, 1953 Betty was united in marriage to Joseph E. Kowalsky who preceded her in death on March 21, 2003. Betty was employed at Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store for a number of years until her retirement.
She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Above all she cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her children, Robert J. (Susan) Kowalsky, Linda (Joe) Mattie, Mary Jo (Steve) Cappelen; grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Erin (Chad), Becki (Shawon), Amy, Katie; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Marilyn) Hauch; brother-in-law, Junior Bill West; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her sister Joan West.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Ricardo Martin officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for St. Monica’s Senior Living or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
