An 80-year-old Janesville man was found dead in the water at the Racine Yacht Club, 1 Barker St., Saturday morning.
A person called 911 at 8:30 a.m. after they found the nonresponsive man in the water. Personnel from the Racine Fire Department, Racine Police Department and the Racine County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) responded to the scene, according to a press release by RCSD.
After being taken out of the water, they learned he was from Janesville and a slip holder at the Racine Yacht Club.
No foul play is suspected at this time. The man’s name is being withheld because it is considered an ongoing investigation and family notifications still need to be made.
“The Racine County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Schmaling would like to express our condolences to the family of the deceased individual,” the press release reads.
