On Oct. 13, the Racine Police Department took a report of a missing person. At that time, family of Daniel Sprecksel said the man went fishing by the north pier on Lake Michigan but had not returned home.

Some of Sprecksel’s fishing gear was located but there was no sign of Sprecksel. On Wednesday of this week, Michigan State troopers were called to the Lake Michigan shoreline in South Haven, for the report of a body found in the water.

The body has been identified as Sprecksel. Preliminary results showed no sign of injury or trauma. No other information has been released at this time. Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this incident.
