Officers from Sturtevant at 10:04 a.m. Friday responded to a home in the 4100 block of Highway H for a report of a suicidal subject. Members of the South Shore Fire Department were also called to the scene and deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department also responded.
Sources tell Racine County Eye that rescue crews from South Shore Fire Department transported a woman to the hospital after she tried to slit her wrists but had only superficial cuts.
This was not a hostage situation, a press release from both Sturtevant and the Sheriff’s Office reads.
Police confirmed that by 4:30 p.m. the male subject was in custody and was being transported to the hospital as well.
No one was injured during the incident.
